Tips and Tricks on Creating Amazing Aquascapes

180 gallon in the works. Contemplating the center rock. It is a Marco rock prime cut with a flat back. I am considering siliconing it to the back glass in the center. Open to any and all feedback.

New 150 scape, there's a lot of natural sunlight so its hard to get a shot without glare...lmk your thoughts.

Here are my attempts. This is my most recent addition - a 135 DSA mixed reef. I have chosen a more open layout after reading many threads on RC including this one.

I also re-did my old 215 gallon reef tank and will make this a SPS dominated reef. I removed a lot of the rocks and went also with en open "two mountain" set up.

Old tank (pic is 2 years old):

Today (still work in progress: have to clean the bottom and not 100% satisfied with the rocks on the right side)

Maybe someone will find sharing my little project usefull.

The idea is to only work with one pilar on a PVC Foam board. Materials used Fiji rock dead, PVC Foam, Tie-rips, Epoxy, Speedglue and Keramikkleber.

Almost done...

Here's my new scape. Critiques welcome:

Here's the front view. The only rock that doesn't feel right is the shortest one in the very center. I'm thinking maybe move that slightly to the right to make a new island, or just remove it altogether?

Beautiful. I would keep the center rock where you have it, as it establishes your "golden ratio" 5::3 horizontally. It's probably just me but I would go without the small rock on the right, keeping the open space of the sand uncluttered. Nice work.

I like option 2. Make sure you put taller corals on the back rock. It should give you added depth and height that the other arrangement wouldn't allow. It would be a good place for stag horn acros or tall softies. I wouldn't pile rock on top of it to get the added height, let the coral do the work to give a better depth effect.
