I still really like this one - maybe make it a 2 part one though instead of one.

Mitch- per my taste, #2 looks the best.

Cardinal- I love your aquascape! I really like the open spaced sugar sized sand. I want to go this route also. My problem is that I want to keep SPS and I need FLOW. I wish these sand grains were heavier. What is your experience with your sand and how much flow are you putting thru your display?

Right now I just have 1 MP40wqd running at about 50% and do notice that the sand moves. I think the trick is to get it to settle based on your circulation and not have to worry about it later. Something that also would help is having more pumps running at a lower percentage to prevent it from going everywhere.

On the aquascape I went with this:

I have started on the basic rock work for my 450g,96x36x30 tank.My wife is actually the one responsible for this task.I have a drilled tank for a closed loop, which is posing more difficulty than expected.I am working with the rock I have at present and more than willing to get more,so please don't be shy to give your opinions I have very thick skin. The less is more approach is what we are going for.

My 300.Upgrade is sitting on the back porch 500g 11'6"x22"x42"t that's going to be a challenging aqua scape.

Just as a point of reference...the first pic is from a little over a year ago, when the rockscape was first put in the tank and it had just cycled (here with two clowns and a couple of corals). The second pic is about one year later...

Just to show how big that middle ledge is:
It comes at one point about 2 to 3 inches from the front.
That is a 6 foot tank.
