How often do you feed?
What do you feed?
Do you have a clown hosting?
Has it moved?

The reason I ask is because mine stayed put for weeks then started to move around. It is on a perch. Whats changed is I removed the clowns since i am have moved all fish in a hospital tank due to ich. Also i started target feeding mysis evry couple of days. Before i fed very irregularly.

Lighting wise he is under 2 radion xr30 pros.

Thanks,

I use a gyre 150 connected to apex. It slows it down a lot at nights. Thats when he seems to be on the move. Im thinking of just using the slower profile i use during the day for the night mode. During the day i have different profiles for the gyre.

As far as changes, i have not changed it since i implemented weeks ago. The gyre was there before the anemone.

Thanks,

I have had a mag in my aquarium for years now. With two clown fish that live there. I never fed it once originally and it was flourishing.

But I removed all my fish about a year ago for letting the tank go ich free.

Shortly after removing the clowns, the mag began to wander. A LOT.

I finally figured out how to make it happy though and stay in one space. Daily manual feeding. Meaty foods.

After putting the clown fish back in, I no longer have to feed it. The clown fish take care of it.

So, I have had basically the same experience.

So what I think is necessary:

1) Get some clownfish to make it happy
.. OR 2) Feed it regularly.

If you do those, they appear to not have much wanderlust.

Mine never move much. Lots of light good water and good current and it will stay put. Right now only one of my Magnifica share clowns with a Gigantea. The other Mag does not have clowns.
I feed rarely. They have been in the same place since I put them in the tank

my mag hosting a pair of clowns stays put and never moves, right next to the wave maker. it would be cool if they could all stay put.

Thanks all. I placed it back on the perch. I increased the current at night and it has not moved in a couple of days.

small gig towards the bottom.

Mine will move around a bit on the pedestal I fashioned for it, but that's about it. Lots of light and chaotic flow. It's always had clowns and I never target feed it.

Had this particular one for around 18 months. Perhaps yours is thinking about splitting.

Nice tank. That's a lot of mushrooms.

I think it started moving when I started target feeding which was after I removed the clowns. I still feed a cube of mysis in a fish less tank for the inverts and corals. Now no more target feeding and no longer moving. I thought it would be the other way where it would be happy food wise therefore it won't move. I also increased flow at night.

Thanks.

A lot of light is the key but flow and clean water is important too. We cannot get too much light to Magnifica and Gigantea in our tank

Mine has not moved so far , was deflating the first few days . Gave it half a pacific white shrimp from the supermarket 6 days in a row and grew like 4" in the past week...
I'll probably eventually add chopped mussel or clam to it's feedings . I plan on feeding it maybe twice a week once it's fully established.[emoji4]

I built this tank knowing I was going w/ a mag and percula combo, so I made a pedestal high up w/ good light and fairly good flow, and it stayed right where I put it other than a couple shifts, very slight.
Yours looks really nice.
