Tomato clown

Ok so my bta just kinda started moving and while it's moving my 2 tomato clowns Just kinda left it and botth clowns went there own ways. Idk if it's possible but they both just hang out in the corners of my tank and one is starting to swim upside down and now I am getting scared. Can someone tell me what to do!? And my bta is still on the move by the way!

My bta constantly runs around. I found it in the overflow 2 nights ago. Are you sure your tomatoes were paired? How long have you had them? Any paremeter changes?

Again, how old is the tank set up? And how long have you had the clowns? It's hard to offer good answers if you don't offer up the pertinent data.

Was one a fair amount bigger than the other? Where they both small/young when you got them?

The tank is about 4-5 years old and the clowns and bta are about a month old

That's how you tell if humans are pairing up, not clownfish!

If 2 clowns are the same size and haven't been 'paired up' they are either 2 juveniles (not male or female) or are both female.

If the are juveniles they don't fight and one gets bigger than the other and becomes female, the smaller one becomes a male. Any clownfish in a tank without other clownfish becomes female in a very short period of time (like 2 or 3 months or less).

Two mature clowns are much more likely (90% IMHO) to be 2 females and they will fight until one moves away or dies.

Fun factoid about Clowns - they are all born male - the dominant one will become female. They are not born "undecided" and then go either way.

I know they start of male. They fight for dominance. The more dominant one becomes female. Which they were in the middle of

why Ph so low?

what about ammonia?

Makes me a bit nervous seeing the .05 nitrite especially with a nem. My rainbow bubbletip hasn't moved since I put him in the tank around a month ago or so.

Nems are not nearly as forgiving as other creatures (clownfish etc).

just my 2 cents.

These seem like terrible numbers, I just tested my tank:

CAL: 310
ALK: 7.3
MAG: 1160
Nitrates: 0
Nitrites: 0
Phos: 0.02
PH: 8.2
Salinity: 1.021
Temp: 78.6

My salinity is low as are my CAL/ALK/MAG. The important stuff looks good though.
