Tomini tang and red turf algae?

Hi, my Astrea snails didn't touch the red turf algae but I got some big Mexican Turbos and they mowed right through it. The problem is they also knock things around... will a Tomini tang eat this now that it's been mowed down so I can remove the snails?

Other tang suggestions? 75g... will upgrade to 120-180 in about a year.

Thx!

Hard to say if the Tommi will eat it or not, just because a fish is or isn't suppose to eat something doesn't mean they will. Does the Tommi pick at other algae in the tank constantly?

Thx, I don't have a Tomini... I'm asking if they generally eat the mowed town turf algae? I've seen "kiss" marks on diatom covered glass but I don't have diatoms... so I'm curious what other algaes they'll eat. thx!

mine wont touch it. he will pick at rocks but does not touch any kind of turf or hair algae trust me i have plenty. i have three tangs in my tank and a rabbit fish none of them will touch it.

I have had better luck with my Yellow Tang eating GHA, but my Tomini could be eating it as well but I have never caught him in the act. What my Tomini does do though is rid any algae off my rocks and back glass!

I have a Tommi also but I have a orange shoulder and a Red Sea sailfin so all the algae in my tank gets eaten but I don't know who eats what

I have a Tommi and a YT and between them they are eating all algae that develops including a red turf algae that I tend to grow. The only place it thrives in pockets they cannot reach. It seems that the Tommi is the most agressive grazer so I credit him with most of the algae control. That said, all fish are different cant count on any one species to eat exactly what you want it to.
