Took my skimmer apart ( cleaning). Now guess what, it wont work.(9002)

Dad gum it. :mad2: I saw the skimmer, there it was skimming away!!!!!

I thought " HEY I HAVE A GREAT IDEA. LETS TAKE IT APART AND CLEAN IT!!" .


So i did. Now, i put it back to gether. ( FREAKIN MAD TO, THE DAD GUM HOSE WOUDNT FIT THROUGH THE WHOLE). stick in my tank, and wake up next day, and the skimmer bubbles wont make it all the way up. It seems like theres not enough air. Its done breaking in and all, but it..i dont know how to describe it...its not bubley enough:rollface: . guys, plz plz plz PLEASE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! help me fix it. lol
i may be putting it together wrong ( i dont think so though).

guys, im starting to get ticked off. Im at the point were i want to throw it away. Can anyone help me? im a 13 year old kid who need help.

Did you adjust or try adjusting the blue screw to try changing the amount of air being drawn into the pump? After taking apart and cleaning a skimmer the same settings dont always quite work the same. Also is the elbow that the airline attaches to the venturi fully seated and push in all the way. You mentioned you could not get the hose routed correctly.... is it kinked at all?

I understand the frustration but the one thing you will find over time with the hobby in alot of situations patience is key

thanks for the help shawn, i tryd just taking the hose off the blue screw piece just to get air, in case the somthing was wrong with the screw. that didnt work. Im pretty sure that there is no kinks in the hose. And you said that the elbow had to be pushed ALL the way? I couldnt push it anymore in. When i turn it on, The bubles dont even Near make it to were it should.

How did you clean it? Hopefully you didn't use any soap. Just warm/hot water is all that should be used, and maybe a paper towel or the brush to get the gunk off. After a really thorough cleaning it may have to go through another break-in period of a few days till it starts performing again.

Heya guys,Srry about the long waits...
Update. Skimmer is skimming "sort of" i guess its doing its break in thing all over again. But it is doing mutch better. I took it apart and tryd doing the same thing( making sure the hose isnt kinked , or, the elbo part is in the green toob. And iput it all back to gether LIKE THE 10 TIMES I DID BEFORE...and then FINALY it WORKED!) I dont know how or what i did. But i know im not taking it apart again. Im having to "fix it" screw wise, to were it was before. I lowerd the water level and ajusted the screw it c if it will skim better.
