Broke the record for most starting wins! :) Saad with a shorty!!!! Why coach Q put Carcillo on the Toews-Hossa line for a few shifts is beyond me. It wasn't like we were ahead and Q had to do his "lets experiment, juggle lines gig" Saad doesn't show the points but he is everywhere. LETS GO HAWKS!!!!!!!!!

He IMO put Carcillo out there to keep teams honest. The Hawks are not a physical team and it shows often. Look at the Vancouver game they beat the hawks physically up and down the ice. Bickell will throw his weight around and same goes for Bollig but they can be out there every game protecting everyone. Hossa's had his brains scrambled same with Toews. With Carcillo on the ice guys are a little less likely to take a run on either guy. Remeber a guy cant come off the bench to defend a teamate and often you dont get a second chance. Case in point the Hossa hit last game. If carcillo had been out there Hansen would have had to fight a worthy opponent (bollig would have done the same). He mixes the lines up so he can get guys out there that will finish checks. All that being said this team has gelled perfectly and will hopefully make a deep run.
 
Also I am impressed with Saad, Shaw, oduya and Stalberg. All 4 are playing amazing. They wont get on the score sheet everygame but they are helping the team win....and Kruger on PK is outstanding

I just got home from the game lol. Where you there? We moved to 200 this year..
 
I am still in the 300 level where the REAL FANS are! LOL. Didn't go to the game cuz sold my tickets for more than twice of face value. Need to have money to buy playoff tickets ;)

Swamp Donkey-when the Hawks won the cup, they were not that physical either. Hawks were totally out hit but they still won the cup. Also, I think Carcillo is a huge liability, stupid penalties. I'm guessing that after a couple shifts, Q realized what a good line that consists of Hoss, Toews and Saad. They are gelling (spelling?) He put Carcillo back to the 4th line, where he belongs. It doesn't matter who is out there, the cheap shots will still happen. The only thing is that after the occurence, the enforcer will stick up for their teammate however it is too late, the damage (injury) is already done.

All in all, the Hawks are quite fun to watch right now!!!!!

MJ I do agree that the hawks were out hit the stanley cup year. An I dont disagree with the H,T,S line. The youngin is playing awesome and adds a huge step to line. I personally have zero issue with throwing in your enforcer on a few lines. I think guys like Carcillo add alot mentally for players. Their big checks and fights can turn the tide of a game. I find these guys invaulable. I dont disagree that guys will still take cheap shots, I just personally think it happens less when a team has a few guys willing to step up for their star players. A guy like Carcillo on the ice doesnt make as many mistakes as people think that his strong defense and other fowards cant make up for. Now if we were talking about John Scott I would agree with you!!!LOL this year Q cant afford a big guy to go down. I shudder to think what would happen if a Towes or Hossa injury like last year happened again. By the time they healed the season would be over (I know Hossas injury was a season ending in any year). I just think the Hawks have 4 solid lines. Rotating in a big hitter IMO adds a spark. Big hits creat big turnovers. That being said! GO Hawks! I love hockey! Everyone has a different opinion and view! unlike baseball or football where you know that a team needs help pitching or they need a running back Hockey has so many more variables! Wish I was ticket holder. Damn UC is a hour and a half away. I'm luck to get there twice a year. I envy you MJ
 
Back pressure/check has been the difference this year. Oduya is playing out of his mind. Kane decided to mature a little, no surprise he would play better hockey if he wasn't tanked in a bar. Hossa Crawford and emery are playing at high levels too. Don't freak out on Q tinkering just yet, he's one of the few coaches this year that has gotten the most out his lines and divided minutes pretty well.
 
Before Carcillo was hurt he was playing on the #1 line thats why he was put up there a couple shifts. So far this year Quenville has made all the right calls even with timeouts, so I can't complain about him and if he want to change lines let him. The only reason thet are playing so good is because the wingers are doing their job and back checking and the defense has been stout. I hate to say it but sooner or later the goalie flood gates are gonna open and they are gonna let a bunch of goals in because I don't think their goaltending is good enough to win a cup. that's the only complaint i have about the team.
 
Everyone has improved and we have rookies contributing again. This team was young when we won the cup. I am all ready to get my hands on it again!
 
Lol yea no more mentions of that.. the team has matured a ton and have shown it on the ice. The penalty kill has been unreal same as the shot blocking.. hopefully the can keep it up!
