Reef Bass

colors and textures
I would like to thank everyone who opened their homes to us yesterday so we could check out their tanks. I know I enjoyed seeing the variety of setups, corals kept and solutions to common reefing issues.

And thanks also to those who brought yummy fermented grape juice to share. We are after all the Wine Country Reefers.

The raffle was particularly fine with a good selection of items and it seemed pretty much everyone won something.

I apologize that my photo demo didn't happen. I'd be happy to reschedule it for another meeting if y'all would like. If anyone has individual questions regarding tank photography, feel free to call / email / pm / whatever.

Ken

Ken,

Thanks to you also for opening up your home and doing a great job cooking for all of us. After I get home from work today I will post a few photos of the tanks we saw.

Like I said It might be nice to have you do a small power point demo of photo tricks and techniques at a meeting and then maybe have an outing to your or someones tank to try and perfect our skills.

Thanks againg for the tour and the raffle...Craig.

Ken,

You had your hands full cooking. The meeting and tank tours we're exceptional. You won't have to ask me twice to see your tank again. It's truly awsome!

Well here are a few photos for all you that didn't come on the tour. We all had fun learning about the different setups and ways that you can setup you tank. Not sure about specifics of tank sizes but I am sure the owners will give you specifics if you want them.

That being said I am only putting in one photo per tank as I am lazy and hate uploading and resizing and all that photobucket stuff. Now on to the tour:)

First stop was a member who I forget his name something like Hawaiian Volcano or something;)

Second stop was to Carne Espada and his softie dominated tank not to mention dogs, koi ponds and birds:)

Then to my house and my tiny(compared to all the rest) 55 gal mix
took this photo later so I could show you that I actually have fish!

Then to Shaneh house Only include a photo of the tank although the water wall and empty monster tank were impressive along with that giant skimmer.

Then finally to Reefbass house with a beautiful main tank and a brand new skimmer tank. I must have been hungry at that point as I didn't take any photos of the frag tank as impressive as it was. Oh and not to sell him short but his sweet dog and bird were also great attractions.

All in all a great time had by all and thanks again to Ken who organized and got everything together.

p.s. my raffle seem very happy in heir new homes:)

Sorry I missed the tour, but I was in Laguna Beach. I visited several great reef stores, some with huge, mature colonies of LPS-very beautiful. I got a few things and they seemed to have survived the plane flight home in spite of delays. See you next month.

Ken Thanks again for opening your home to all of us reef heads and having the BBQ. My daughter keeps asking why I don't have a big tank like yours. And to the others that had an open house, thank you, I have lots of ideas and now just need a much larger tank. A great group of people to hang with. For those that missed it, great tanks and great food. Mike
