Supply list
1. Track actuator and mounting braket from

Pick what best fits your needs. I went with the 20" faster track actuator.

2. Pulleys
I went with part number 3213T52 from mcmaster.com

3. Plywood for mounting
4. Lots of bolts, fender washers and lock nuts
5. Eye bolts and hooks for hanging the box to hide the pulley/actuator system

Here is the actuator and pulleys on the plywood. I placed the pulleys dead center on the plywood (front to back) for easy mounting on the ceiling.

Haha, yeah I was using a box to keep the wires from rubbing on the styrofoam on the side of the tank. Eventually I will tack up the cords above and behind the light. Cost was 400ish maybe 450 to make it.

Nice setup. I like the way you finished out the canopy housing.

In your link I saw fast track actuators for $170.00. What does the $400-$450 include? Seems a little high for bolts, paint, wood, and pulleys.

Well 170+30 (mounting hardware) + 30 shipping = 230
4 pulleys + shipping = about 55
stainless steel bolts, lock nuts, fender washers, eye bolts, hooks, = about 40
3/4" OSB ply 4x8 sheet = 40 dollars
1/4" finished plywood 4x8 sheet= 30 dollars
1 box of 2.5" deck screws = 8 dollars
8 toggle bolts = 5 dollars
paint = 20 dollars

grand total ~428

Very cool design and build!

Thanks. I'm glad to have it work out as well as it did.
