Well my sixline did!:D

All jokes aside I feel horrible for the little guy! But so releived at the same time. Ive been missing my wrasse for 2 days now, when I got home tuesday afternoon I noticed the tanks were sky high in temperature(84) and quickly lowered the temps by adding cool water, turned the AC on etc. I didnt think much of it on the first day thinking he may have been just stressed due to the temp and decided to stay burrowed until he felt it was safe. The second day I was getting nervous, I do have an open back no more than 10" but definately enough for a scape route if he felt like it. Then my mind wandered ; if he jumped and was floppin around did Tuffy(my pomeranian) eat him? Because I looked and didnt see nor smell any signs of him. Then my last thought was maybe he just died and the hermits got him :/

Been putting off going to the store last night to get more RO/DI but fianally went this morning and was priming the overflow when I noticed. He was swimming in the overflow in about 2-3 inches of water. I could tell he was exhausted as sometimes hed get stuck on the ventilated pipe. I managed to scoop him out there immediately and he is now back in my tank:) 2 days locked down in a lil CPR overflow, this guys tough! Didnt think it to be a possibility because of the filtering screen in the overflow, obviously I need a finer meshed screen!

Just thought Id share some hobby drama with you all.

Justin,

What type of filtering screen do you need. I'll be bringing some to the next MARS meeting, for anyone that has a fish-eating overflow;)

Right now Im using the stuff that came with it, its that green colored thick plasticy kind, apparently doesnt work so well for wrasse:D I imagine something with the hole sizes the width/diameter of pencils would work, but Id be willinig to try anything I guess. Id only need 5-6inches length by 3 inches tall, thatd be great Karl thanks for the offer!

This is exactly what you need, than:

It's a 1/4" vinyl mesh. I'll bring a whole roll for everyone at the next MARS meeting.

If you want a piece sooner, Justin, I'm planning on heading over to YourReef during lunch today.

My wife had a firefish dissapear in her nano cube... 2 months later she found it living in the back overflow area. She said she looked back there once but didn't see anything. He was pretty skinny but he made it somehow! The antics of marine life is amazing sometimes.

Gutter Guard from Home Depot. Supposed to keep leaves out of your rain gutters, but probably works better for anything but that. ;)

had the same thing happen to my hawk fish . I have U tubes tho he must jumped in to the overflow thern got sucked in to the back overflow . poor little guy sitting back there for atleast a day.got him out and he is as good as new.

Trapped!2 days in my overflow,Could U do it?

Hey Justin,

Never be trapped in my overflow for two days. But does be trapped in a cupboard count? Luckily there was food in it, so I was able to survive for a few day. Thank goodness Stacy put some grates over the cupboard now, so it's unlikely to happen again.

If someone could bring some screen for me too I would really appreciate it. I just pulled one of my blue-green chromis out of my overflow

You're welcome, Justin! Glad it worked great for you.

Pico1 - I'll be bringing a whole roll to the next meeting. Everyone's welcome to some.
