My fish shows this exact same symptoms as mentioned in this article.
I know that I ll need formalin, but what else and why ?
As a student of pharmacy I dont approve a drug therapy like dosing formalin+malachite green+methylene blue+erthromycin+de-wormer+stresscoat.
I think as we dont know whats going on in the treatment with fish,we should take it step by step or atleast make sure that not two drugs interfere with each other in saltwater.every specie/sub specie even fishes from different regions are different from each other so,something that works for one specie greatly may not work for other or can be harmful.
What to do with that ?

:thumbsup:A clownfish's worst nightmare! But, it's not just clownfish that are susceptable to this efficient parasite. No time to waste when you have a fish showing symptoms of a brook infestation. White, stringy feces is usually the first sign of an infestation. To be followed by clamped fins, white patches, and then the appearance of the fish shedding a layer of skin. If brook progresses to this extreme, chances are its too late! The best medication for erradicating brook is formalin. The most reliable product, IME, is Formalin 3, by Kordon. Follow their directions for dip treatment, perform 5 dips it total, one dip every second day, for a total of 10 days treatment. Thats what i found for ya hope it works. Good luck.

I bought a BSJ from a very repeatable website that clams they QT there fish for 4 weeks before selling to the public. Well guess what the BSJ had Brook and in no time it died. I have since lost 2 other fish and all the fish in my tank are sick from this Pest. I got some Formalin today and I'm going to start the treatment in the morning when the light turns on. This is a hard lesson for me to learn.

You had success with Lifeguard? That product has killed every fish I have treated with it.

I didn't get to treat my fish today, because my QT is cycling. (Just set it up.) Don't want to kill the fish with Ammonia. The Brook seems to be going away a little bit. I know that it will come back, so I'm going to let the QT get settled in before I start treatment. There was a pretty high Ammonia spike yesterday morning so maybe today it will settle down to 0...... I hope. I don't want the fish to suffer any longer then they have to.
