Wow:eek1: , just finished reading this whole thread and it only took me three days, lol.

That said, has anyone had any issues with dosing limewater and VC at the same time? I started out last night with GNC VC with rose hips. I should be getting the powdered form from Iherb next week.

My approach is to start with 2ppm on my 90 + 20 sump and slowly work my way up to 5-10ppm in a few weeks. I don't have issues with my corals but I would like to see some improvement on my zoo's.

Yes, I read both parts. I may have done a data dump concerning Kalk. I think someone mentioned it but I can't remember if anyone had any issues with dosing both. I don't have three more days to look for it now, lol.

They are talking about using vitamin c as an anti-oxidant in that thread by adding it to food. they are commenting on how long until it breaks down in saltwater not really using it to prevent food from breaking down. Good thread nontheless.

Here is an observation for you all

quick history- I never had any issues with my polyps to begin with..but I played with the dosing for 5 months or so. I never saw any benefits to using this stuff with the exception of it did slightly increase my skimming production......

I was using it in a tank with sand. I just got rid of the last sand in the house and the vitamin C now does nothing whatsoever for me as it didnt have the same effect on my skimming production without the sand bed.

I plan on getting rid of the 2 lbs I have remaining while the integrity of it is still good. Otherwise it woudl just sit on my shelf and waste away.

I started maintenance dosing my tank a couple of weeks ago. I noticed it fueled the growth of some hair algea I have in my tank. I stoped dosing after a week. anyone else notice this? or maybe it's something else.

If you're using the table VC, it will cause a film of clear algae to form on the rocks. That is why puffy recommended to use the powder form instead. Something that is holding the table together is probably causing the algae outbreak. I've been dosing with the GNC brand but my lawnmover has been taking care of the algae. However, I have seen some improvement on my zoa's since dosing VC. I have also notice my RBTA closing up a bit but this could be normal.

Yes, it fueled a huge hair algea breakout in my tank. :mad2: I'm still trying to get rid of the stuff.

I'm using sodium ascorbate 100% pure bufferd v.c. powder from i-herb.

That's the same product I used. I definately had the outbreak of HA after the start up of VC dosing. I stopped dosing sometime ago due to this issue. Still working to get it the HA under control. I don't know if I'll does VC again? One thing forsure, my skimmer kicked A$$ when I was dosing the VC. Now it's just ok. I would underdose vs over to try and limit the algea growth.

hi, i just want to make sure that im dosing the vit c right,
i have a 16gal with 5 gal refugium, so i will be doing 200 1st day, 6002nd day,1200 3rd day, 2000 4thday and 2000 for the next 10days
is that right? hope i will get great result like you guys lol. thanks a lot.
