Gotcha on the ozone. I see people running ORP meters with no ozone. RC has had a few problems over the years including brown "mulm" buildup in the mixing container and inconsistant calcium/alk levels. I use Tropic Marin Pro Reef and sometimes Seachem Reef Salt and never need to add anything. I use a kalk reactor as I find it much easier to use and since I have low ph issues.

Puffer,
Just wanted to up date you on our vc use....it's only been 12 days now and we are only up to 1/2 tsp. x2 daily.
Before we started we had NO growth, some fading away.....
others only partially opened.
Today, day 12, we noticed growth(about 5 new polyps) on the ked red.....some brown and gold zoas went from 20 to 30 polyps in that time and a green zoa with orange center and orange skirt have doubled in size (plumped)they were the size of an eraser and now almost dime size, can see there mouth now and a new polyp starting....so far all good stuff.

We did take some before shots.....will post pics' after a months use.

Thanks for everything.

Hi i'm very interested. is it in my best intrest to dose VC in my NC24 with out a calcium reactor? also can i dose VC while using Bulkreefsupply's 2 part solution?

ok so this is a long thread I started at the beginnig and skipped over alot but I have starte dosing VC for about a wwek and a half now doisng 2x a day 1000mg. Im using nature made vc pills, now that ive read these last 2 pages is this a no no to dose using the store brand pills?? If so what should I be dosing?? Also I have a 125g with a 30g sump how much should i be doisng??

Any thoughts????

ok So i just purchased the VC. Should I stop dosing the pills now until I recieve the order of the new VC or should I continue dosing

I used the pill form for quite some time before it did anything detrimental to my parameters, so if you are really having issues with your zoas, go ahead & use it until the buffered batch comes in. Shouldn't be long...

So I've been dosing for a month now. 3/4 tsp in my 29g and 1 tsp in my 55g (total volume around 75g) twice a day with these results:

Near zero nitrates.
Near zero phosphates.
All my diatoms have disappeared!
Zoos and other corals are brighter and growing faster.
Water is a little cloudy.
Tons of skimate.

I'm going to cut back 1/4 tsp and see if the cloudiness goes away.

Sounds good. I agree to cut back a bit, especially if you have SPS, sa it will affect the light. Did you happen to take any before pics?

I have pics of some colonies and sea horses before -- the seahorses use to be brown due to diatoms, now they are yellow.
