Trick to Clowns hosting an Anemone

BTW... only one thing happens when you show your clowns videos and photos... they laugh at you. :lolspin:

OK I made some clown/anemone porn for you to use.

I wanted to try out my new camera and how it recorded video.

What ya think??

Play it for them and see how they like it.

Ohh this is B porn.. It only shows a little bit. I will get you some better stuff later.

High deff is so much better too.

I have a BTA tank with four clowns in it 3 ocellaris and a perc for four months they paid no attention to any of the five nems. I heard online if you put the bta and the clown in the same bucket they will host. I had to move my tank. So during The move I put all the bta's and clowns in the same bucket within 5 mins all four were hosting all the nems they looked like they were having the time of there lives. Now that there back in the tank they only host when all the lights are out. Weird little guys

so outta curosity....what is the natural hosting nem for perc's....i have 2 true percs and want to get the right anemone for them...the LTA I have is out because my porcelain crab took it over...and defends it relentlessly

im putting pics of fish pooping by the overflow box, in hopes of my fish learning from it and pooping by the overflow so it gets skimmed faster.

next, talking fish videos lol

On friday's I put up Nemo for them to watch and put a shot of vodka in the tank for them.

Carbon dosing...

I meant the nemo part ;)

according to Snell's law the image in air after glass would be too distorted for the fish to even see :) also fish do not have their eyes right in front like we do to see the image :) but what does science know :)

LMAO...Finding Nemo on a loop..

wait don't do that....you may come home to find all your livestock rolling around the floor in plastic bags lol

any new clowns go into a clay pot first that i get. They become hosted by the pot, If i want them to go into an anemone i slowly move the pot closer to the anemone each day until the open side of the pot is right there with the anemone tentacles pretty much going in the pot. I guess there is no sure fire way but that's what i do when it seems like they wont take up residence and it always works for me.

Ahhh good idea... Did not think of that. I will have to phone a friend and let him try that.

I've tried this on two separate occasions and it worked both times. One time it was a pair of percs in a ritti anemone, the other was oscs in a long tentacle anemone.

Essentially I position the anemone at one end of the tank and gently herd the clowns toward the anemone with my hand, just enough for the clowns to graze the anemone. I do this for about 2-3 minutes, 4-5 times a day. I got both hosted by day 2.

I think this works because the clowns start to associate my hand as danger, triggering a defense mechanism which makes them want to seek out the anemone.

So yeah, if you're desperate, run out of ideas, or just out of patience my method aint bad.:)

i hought about herding them toward the nem....only thing i was worried about was them gettin stung to bad by the anenome....then the damned porcalin crab took over.....thinkin need to get another nem.....we're gonna pick up a 29 nano here ina few days...have some idea's wify wants to try.....by the way...she's gone salt tank nuts....so ya should be interesting

Would a maroon clown host LTA even if it had already hosted Bubble Tip (it died from power outage)?

Sorry I dont want to hijack the thread but I figured that it would get answered quicker
