Tropic Marine BIO-ACTIF Salt?

Thanks for all the info but just so I'm clear- it's ok to mix up a larger batch of Bio-Actif and use it over an extended period. May be some slime in the vat but this is of little/no consequence. Has anyone done this? Should I aerate? Realistic expiration from time of mixing?
Thanks

I've mixed for up to a week so far with no changes in chemistry or film in the container.
P.E. on corals and growth /color are off the hook .

Considering the added variable of an organic compound in this salt, how problematic would larger water changes be? If the recommended "dose" is a 15% water change per week, would a 25% or 30% WC/week yield a potential bacterial bloom? And what might be the effects of dosing something like Probidio along with using this salt?

I've been doing a 35% water change bi-weekly and I have not seen anything but good. I did that so I could see some quicker results. I'm very happy with the results but can't afford to change so much water so for my next bucket I'm going to 50% monthly water changes which is what I was doing with IO. Hopefully that will yield acceptable results.

I did my second 5 gallon WC on Thursday and I already see changes in my SPS, PE is better than a week ago and their colors are more vibrant than a week ago. I'm sold on this salt i will be doing another 5 gallon WC on Sunday. My skimmer is really rolling and producing a darker skimmate than a week ago with no adjustment.

10% weekly water changes would be better.

romanr,
What actual phrase did you google to get to the salt review? I tried a several combinations and am not seeing it.

Still uisng it and ordered more.

The review was a bit weak as it left out the difference in coral colour.

To update ,I am going on 2 mo. with the salt ,doing my normal 10% water change every week.
I am very happy with Bio-Actif and the color of the corals have never looked better . The up keep, I would say is easier too .
I am nearing the end of my first bucket ,have a second in the fish room ,but will be ordering my 3rd next week ,just to make sure I have it on hand .
My parameters are consistantly perfect and stay that way
.No longer do I have to chase them around with additives . JME

I'm using it, but thinking about switching. The alk is just too low for my taste. I let my tank go a few days without dosing and my KH dropped to 5. Never had this problem before. Now, it's been a struggle to get the KH past 9.

Just curious, what salt did you previously use ?

I was using Red Sea Coral Pro Salt. I also have a nano tank so I don't use a skimmer, I just change water 2x a week. I was using the Red Sea in my 2.5 with no issues and awesome growth in all my corals (zoas, sps, gsp, leather). I since upgraded to a 7 gallon with the tropic marin bio actif and ever since my zoas haven't adjusted and like I said been struggling with keeping my KH high. I was reading a review on ************ about bio actif and they claim, "The salt creates more hydrophobic compounds and bacteria then traditional salts which increases the load of your protein skimmer. You shouldn’t be using this salt without a decent protein skimmer." So since I'm not using a skimmer maybe that's why I'm having issues with the salt??

For those of you that are using the new TM salt, were you dosing vodka/vinegar before the switch and did you continue to dose after the switch?

I did not use vodka [ for the tank, lol ] or vinegar before or after.
Never seemed to really need it .
Still love the salt.
You can all but calibrate test kits with it as far as parameter consistency on change water.
Colors are brighter ,polyp extension is great .
