I picked up a barely used 6x for a great price so I'm going with it. From a range its rated at up to 250 gallon so its on the light side for my system which has the DT at 270g and a total volume of like 340-350g. I'm running it right at 200 GPH.

I had an ich outbreak just beginning (on my Powder Blue who is an ich magnet) and it may be a coincidence but within 48 hrs there is no sigh of ich on any fish.

Thats great! I just ordered an 80w emperor aquatics unit. I have been fighting ich in my tank for about 3 weeks now and I am losing the battle. I've done a lot of research on uv's and I know there's some heated debates going on right now here on rc about them but I am going to give it a shot.

I loom at it this way. UV probably doesn't directly kill the Ich parasites, but if other parasites are removed from the environment the overall health of the fish is improved and their ability to fight back is improved.

Its been a while since I've posted. Work has been crazy busy. THe tank continues to do good; lots of growth especially in my Zoa Garden!

Here is an updated movie!

Great project. I like your choice in quality hardware. The misses has been after me to do a fish room, I'm going to tag along and see how your project unfolds for future ideas.

Guys, I need a quick opinion. I picked up several new fish this weekend that are now in the QT. The first is a Chevron Tang. No issues there. The 2nd is a baby Flame Angel. The 3rd is a COpperband Butterflyfish. I'm having some buyers remorse. I'm worried about the Flame Angel nipping at my soft corals and the Copperband in keeping it alive successfully and the fact I have several feather dusters in my tank (along with some aphasia but not a tremendous amount).

Thoughts? These fish are all in the QT tank and doing well for now.

Chevron tang is golden! He will be a great addition to your reef. The flame angel is questionable. One of my buddies in Springville has a flame angel in his very mature mixed reef and he is just fine. We can go see him sometime if you like his name is Jared L. The copperband is a great addition to help fend off the aptasia. I added one to my tank and I will pay you money if you can find an aptasia in my display these days. I don't have any feather dusters so those could be an issue... Mine only eats frozen brine, mysis and aptasia daily! If you decide against the copperband I will purchase him from you in a heartbeat. This is my humble experience with your new additions...here is my copperband on patrol in the display tank:
