True Percula laid eggs – What to do?

Well it’s Christmas and my wife noticed that our percs are always by this large mushroom colony and have become very territorial about it â€"œ after a closer look, what do ya know, there are eggs….

What do I do now? Anything to do to help ensure success?

Does the female of male need to be near the eggs?
I can place a plastic breeder container (a box with a lot of holes) to stop the other fish, including parents from bothering the eggs and later little ones.

I don’t have another tank to put them in..

There's a lot involved in rearing SW fish. They go through a larval stage that is tough to bring them through for the average aquarist. I always leave them be in the tank- free coral food!

You will need one if you want to raise them, as well as tanks/ containers for culturing rotifers and hatching brine shrimp.

They will spawn again, don't worry about this batch. If you think you are interested go to Amazon and order a book called Clownfishes by Joyce Wilkerson. Reading it will help you decide if raising clowns is for you. If you decide to do it the book will tell you everything you need to know.

Don't sweat the sections on algae culture, there are products now that let you skip that part ;)
