why are my trumpets slowly dieing? they are receeding up and starting to show their white bone (sorry not sure what thats called)
parameters seem to be fine. the temp has dropped a little due to winter so it is around 74- 76
i am going to get another heater to keep up with the extra 10 gallons of added water that i had added but way before the coral started having trouble.

im sad and dont know what to do. the only real change in my tank is i started feeding brine shrimp in the left corner instead of the right (3x3 cube, 117gal).

also i have been getting alot of aiptasia

what do i do??:sad2:

well trumpets are a LPS, so you'd prob be better off asking in the LPS forum.

That being said, 74 is a bit low, try making 76 the min. And what are your params? you say they're fine, but what are they at?

ammonia
nitrite
nitrate
phosphate
salt level
calcium?
And what kind of lighting/how strong of lighting do you have? in a 117 you've gotta have good strong lighting, so if you havent got that, that could be your problem there

When in doubt , do a water change!
That is my philosphy .
A lot of times when I see a particular coral not doing well and can not figure it out I usually do more frequent water changes. That a helped me several times in the past.
