Hi there! I have had my six line wrasse for 3 years...never was a problem....then the other day he just snapped.. .he is terrorizing the whole tank...I need to yank him out....does anyone have any ideas...I have tried DIY fish traps....regular fish traps...etc...nets...please help! Thanks!

String and a hook would be my choice for those water breathing devilspawn

Thats unfortunate,my 6 line has been a model citizen since day 1. My only success has been with a fish trap and a lot of patience. Good luck!

leave the trap in the tank for at least a day and don't touch it. Don't feed for that day. Once the fish are used to the trap they'll go in for food.

I put a small mirror on the outside of the tank, then positioned the trap so the backside of the trap was flush against the wall of the tank, with the mirror. Didn't take long for the lil guy to see his reflection, went into the trap to attack the intruder.
It was a larger trap, not sure how much that plays into success

That is a really cool idea:thumbsup:

I remembered as a kid putting a mirror so my friend's betta could see his reflection. He didn't like it. Figured why not give it a shot.
I wasn't sure it would work, when I looked from the other side of the tank, through the trap, at the mirror, it looked really dim. Not much light seemed to be making it to the mirror. But I guess I lucked out, or 6 lines don't need a whole lot of light to see.
You may need to place the mirror (without the trap in place) till he finds it. Then place the trap.

i put a trap in my tank for over a week and fed the fish in there after the week i had my pick of fih to catch as they all swam in no problem.
