Over the weekend I got the tank out of storage. Mostly good news. The tank still holds water. The stand wasn't actually broke. The bottom fell out the bottom. With a little help to get the impeller spinning the return pump works, the skimmer pump works and one of the 2 hydor power heads work. The other one the magnet was cracked and rusted out basically disintegrated(sp?). I have one small bucket with 3 rocks in vinegar with the powerhead and the working heater since Saturday. Cleaned out the sump that was a pain with the miracle mud. Do you guys still use this stuff? Light worked dusk/dawn, daylights, moonlights. The stand I sanded down all the black paint. Put two coats killz2 sanded in between coats. I will paint the inside with some sherwin Williams ceiling paint and then I am doing a nice medium gray exterior paint and then polyacyrylic the entire stand. As far as the finish goes all I have to buy is the paint for the outside of the stand everything else I had on hand. Ok some not great news. One leg for lighting fixture broke. The drain bulk head cracked just the plastic piece and that circulation pump I mentioned earlier. The rock seems pretty decent about (80lbs I tried to weigh it)but still doing all the steps. Vinegar, powerspray, bleach,airdry,ro/di+prime then in tank. Still trying to figure which salt, and sand? And the mud. Should I save all the dead coral skeletons?
