Tucson reef tank

The naso blonde, Red Sea sailfish and chevron were all medicated and fed at the lfs. All are eating well so I decided to take them. Lfs even put all three together to assimilate. I'm placing with 3 yellows, 1 purple and 3 chromis. I temperature acclimated and placed in my display toward end of light cycle. I fed the tank. All fish ate, chased a bit but three newbies found solace hanging around each other. Lights out so they can find good hiding places. This morning they're all out and about with no issue. Same all day. I'll post a picture tomorrow as I can't figure out the video posts, yet. Getting coralline algae growth on my rocks and gyre. Corals will start entry after I figure out the auto dosing with the apex. Water change, too. My parameters are good but, manual dosing is getting old.

All 5 gal canisters filled with saltwater. Magnet and floats came in. Installation soon. Reading about Pex hookup and programming tomorrow.

My tank video.

Hooked up the Apex jr. Setup of DOS system was pretty easy. The Neptune getting started guide was very useful. Calibrated the Dosers and mounted to the rack that I'm using to store the saltwater and dosing system. For Father's Day, my son helped me thread the Ethernet cable through the attic crawl space at my office to the storeroom where the apex is located. Hugh help. Will try to finish setup in the next couple of days. Going to look into programming features for the apex. Can't wait to stop the manual dosing. I'll be getting my ca reactor setup dialed in this week too.

Well today was the start of auto dosing. I hooked up piping for auto water changes, too. Water change schedule starting tomorrow. Still manually dosing mag. 5 gallon water change in my quarantine tank and put in one sps coral to see if the water quality will sustain life. Tested water and all parameters good in both display tank and quarantine. Set ai hydra 52 hd to 50% acclimation for a month. Lowered par on frag rack from around 400 to 200. The lfs rack had par of 180 for their sps corals. Corralin algae is spotting very well on the rocks, gyres and back wall. Changed to the small micron filter socks to help clear the water. I'll post pictures of setup tomorrow.

Water changes at 2.5 gallons per day. Start at 6pm and end at 6am. Figure if I take out the same amount of water that I'm putting in that the auto top off will still respond to evaporation. The total system is 260 gals.
