Hi,
Can you suggest one of these models for my setup? I am setting up a 144 half circle reef (59.5" x 30" x 30"). I will be purchasing two 6055's or two 6105's. They will be run off of the 7095 controller. These will be in addition to a reeflo 2600 that will be running on a closed loop with two 1" seaswirls as returns. Which model would you go with? Reef will be roughly 80% SPS with some LPS mixed in. Thanks

At full power the flow of a 6055 covers only 4ft by 18" vs a 6105 at 7ft by 24", the 6105 is really the only viable option, 6055 is for tanks under 120 gallons.

Hi Roger,
So if i decided to go with two 6105's can I regulate flow? What I'm trying to say is, if I hook two of these up on a controller and think I'm getting too much flow, can they be dialed down (example: run them both at 1000gph full time and then ramp them up to 2000gph)?

The 6105 has two flow ranges, roughly 700-2100gph at 12V or roughly 1100-3400 gph at 18V. You set the voltage on the power supply and use your controller or the potentiometer on the pump junction block to set the speed.

Roger, I'm going to jump on this as well. Currently have a standard 90 gallon tank. Would 2x 6055s be sufficient for an sps dominate "top section" and lower flow corals on the bottom? Pretty open rockscape.

It would be marginal if the SPS will be heavy, a few montis or a couple acros, that would work, but if it will be pretty full of SPS the 2 6055's will be underpowered after things grow in unless there is additional substantial flow. You could always add a 3rd though after things grow up a bit.

I think that'd be the way to go. I'm trying not to irritate (future) rics, zoos, and a haddoni on the bottom half of the tank. I could always add a third later on.
