I just got my 6080 and was installing it tonight and pop, the head of the nylon screw to hang the Tunze broke off.:( Now what? I can't hang it w/o this screw and where can I find new ones? Is it part of the warranty?

Thanks,

Roland

The screws are carbon fiber reinforced and this could really only happen if they were tightened to far. I have bins full of them so it isn't a problem to give you one but maybe you need the 3000.244 with metal screws for wider trim. I frequently see them assembled wrong in an effort to stradle platic aquarium trim. When properly assembled it looks like this:

Roger,

I did install it right, I guess I just did one twist too many!:eek2: How can I get a replacement screw, maybe two so I can have a backup?

Thanks,

Roland

Which one do you need, the one with the screwdriver head only or the one for finger tightening, final adjustement. I can send you one free if you PM me. It would go by regular mail. If you have plastic trim like on most American tanks you may want to buy a set 3000.244, this will prevent the need for overtightening as it includes a spacer- it is specifically designed for Oceanic and All Glass type trims. All mail order outlets should have them now and they are $3.21. Below is the result of kit 3000.244- long screws and a suction cup spacer to provide a level mount. The screws are steel treated with smiths black.

Actually Roger,
I bought the 3000-260 kit as I have a corner brace. The screw that popped was the screwdriver screw and not the fingertight screw. I'll call you for further details.

Thanks,

Roland
