Tunze 6205 noise

I bought a used 6205 and find that it makes a lot of noise. I have 2 6105s which are whisper silent, and while the 6205 is an impressive flow increase, unfortunatley the noise is significant. I can hear it outside the tank- it's noise is comparable to an MP40w which I went away from due to noise.
Is this noise common for the 6205 and are there any ways to minimize or eliminate the noise?

It's not common. You might take a close look at the impeller for signs of wear and replace it if necessary. Also check that the front housing is fully attached and that the rubber feet are in place on both sides of the magnet mount.
