Tunze osmolator problem

I have had my osmolator for a little more than 2 years and have gone through two pumps. The unit has been great and rock solid until this last week. It will not recognize when the water level gets low and thus not turning on the pump.

-When the water level is normal, the green level light comes on.
-When the water level is low, NO lights and NO pump on.
-When the water level hits the float switch, the alarm comes on and the red light lights up.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Send in the controller, pump and power supply. I will, god willing, be back in the office on the 24th. I say that because I have been stuck in newark for a day now due to the volcano and any faith I had left in the airline industry is long gone. I can get it repaired as soon as I return. Please include a note with return address and phone number.

Thank you so much. It will be waiting for you when you get back.

Also is there any way to get a pump, or set up a different pump, that will pump water from my basement to my tank on the main floor? I will need to have a max head height of 12 feet.

As Shawn said, but I might suggest if possible just placing the reservoir on a stand in the basement, if you can keep the head to 8ft or less the stock pump will work.

I am having the exact same problem. The green light is always on regardless of the water level. The pump never comes on, but the alarm goes off if I fill it too high. Is this an easy fix?
Thanks-
Darryl

If you send it in I can fix it, it is typically a bad optic sensor.

thanks for the quick reply.
I think the sensor is ok, it seems to be the cable connection inside the controller. If I move the cable up or to the side, everything (pump, sensor, controller) works just fine. I will send it in, unless you think it's something I can fix here.

It is probably a small break in a wire, the optic sensor wires are about the thickness of a paperclip wire. There are four inside the cable and they can be fragile if pulled or kinked hard. I think it is best to send it in.

I sent my Osmolator on Monday you should have seen it on Thursday. I forgot to put include my phone number. If you need it PM me please. Thanks

Hi Roger,
I'm also having a similliar problem. The pump failed after several years of use.... the system has been just rock solid! However, just as I was leaving the country a few weeks ago, I installed the new pump, thinking I would be back in business, but then the I had a different problem.... Maybe the water level sensor has failed as well? The timing makes me suspicious?
Here is what I have:
water level low = pump starts running as it should. Yellow light on.
water level filled back to normal = yellow light on and green light on. Pump still runs.
water level above normal = yellow and green lights on - pump still pumping.
High water level alarm eventually on with red light and stops the pump....
The first thing I did was clean the sensor which seems fine but perhaps the sensor has failed as well, and this is just coinicidence with the failure of the pump? If the sensor had failed, why would the green light illuminate after the water level has been returned to normal? Can't tell obviously if I have a sensor wire issue but the system wiring isn't subject to moving around or any other abuse...
Thanks for your suggestion on how to fix this..

Jack

Well !! I got almost the very same problem.
the green and the yellow light are on at the same time when the water level is to hight, and when it's to low in the sump the pump won't work and the red (level to low) is on !
My other problem is that I'm in Canada, do I have to ship it in Tx?? is there service in Canada?
regard
Tony

I am having a problems with mine too.

When the water level is normal, the green level light is on.
When the water level is low, green light on and NO pump on.
When the water level is high, the alarm comes on and the red light lights up.

My problems is I bought it in US but am now living in Canada. Where do I sent mine to be repaired?
Thanks

You would send it to the USA in this case, there will be a return shipping charge but we can use Priority Mail for $11.45.
