Just installed it and it won'twork.
The alarm keeps going off and it keps telling me water too high.
Is the opitcal probe suposed to light up?
Mine doesn;'t

I did the dual mount on 2 seperate brrackts.
I played with the float switch moving it up and down and it does nothing

nope, float swtich is mouted according to the manual.
The too high light stays on and te to low light blinks.
I'm hoping it';s not broken.

Try soaking the optical sensor in vinegar overnight. It could be dirty. Just be sure not to use any brushes on it. You don't want to scratch it.

It is still possible the float is upside down, the blinking lights indicate a signal conflict (too high and too low). The only causes I can think of are a magnetic field near the float or the float is upside down. The float can be reversed by removing the c clip on the post and inverting the float.

I'll try that today.
I have a hagen powerhead near it, could that be the cause?

Yes, if moving the float does nothing than the magnetic field is probably activating the switch.

Is this a new unit or a used one? Have you tried running the system away from the tank just to test it? I am very puzzled because the osmolator gets several tests before it is shipped, the sensors are tested before installation, the board is tested on an oscilliscope, I have a hard time understanding how a new unit could have this problem.

It's a used unit, I'll try to run it in a bucket away from the tank tonight when I get home.

It could be, if you want to send it in I can take a look at it, be sure to include all contact info.
