Hi Roger!

Hope things are well by you.

First off - just wanted to state that I have been more than satisfied with all of my tunze products. Recently though noticed an odd occurrence with the ozmolator that I thought I'd run by you.

General data:
Ozmolator used to top-off with fresh water only.
Sensors are placed in the sump.
The top-off water line is set up to drop water back into the overflow.
Purchased brand new from MD on 3/4/05.

Recently, the high water alarm has been sounding.

I checked the high water connector and it is not stuck.

Turning the device off for a few hours and back on (manually topping off) seems to temporarily resolve problem (the device reverts to "green"). However - after 12 hours or so the device again sounds the high water alarm.

Any advice?

Thanks in advance for your assistance.

The most likely culprit is magnetic interference. That float switch works by utilizing magnets to open/close a circuit. If you added any new pumps/ballasts or have a magnet cleaner stored nearby these are likely culprits. Also, sometimes as pumps/ballasts age they can cause problems. Any appliance that shares the circuit or is in proximity could be a culprit so if you added a fan or space heater these also tend to create problems. You could start by isolating whether or not it is a defect of the osmolator by moving the osmolator to a room with few appliances. Rubber band the float in it's off position and drop the optic sensor in a cup of water. Wait a day and see if you get any alarm. If you do it will probably be some fault of the osmolator but this would be a new one by me and I think it is unlikely as usually the electronics don't go bad if they worked for this long. If you get no alarm you need to isolate the source of interference.

Thanks for the speedy response. I will do some investigating over the weekend!
