Tunze quality

I'm a Tunze customers in Bangkok, Thailand. We dont have Tunze distributor in town but local shops order Tunze from Hong Kong and Singapore. Since year 2006 until now, 80-90% of Tunze we bought will breake down within a few months. We heard that it's 'caz Tunze moved the plant to China. I'm wondering the products in US are from the same plant? Why I dont see the complain here at all.

I'm not joking about 80-90% break down. It's the actual figure for most of the model, especially Wavebox made in 2006 and 2007. I'm not sure about 2008 model.

The products are still made in Germany, the only parts that come from China are the power supplies and impeller magnets, parts which cannot be bought anywhere else. After 6 years of 30% annual growth worldwide Tunze had to expand and the factory basically added 50% more employees and 50% more space and a seperate machining facility that is within a couple blocks of the main factory in Penzberg. Add to this that there were radical changes in product design, the Nano Stream was unlike any other pump we have ever built. In general we make changes as a slow evolution with only one or two small changes to a product every 6 months or so. In this way every change is tested and results in improvements rather than major problems. We had other problems with the RohS compliance and new VDE mandates that required changes in materials. This made 2007 a very, very hard year, 15+ inexperienced employees, new plastics which we were told to use to meet standards but had no experience with and complete redesigns. For the most part we had the same problems here but we acted quickly to solve them, we intercepted a lot of the faulty products in our warehouse so they weren't sold and we quickly serviced the ones which made it to market. We have a plan in place now to implement a Kaizen style model (similar to Toyota management) by 2010 and we are back on track with a slow evolution and more thorough testing of products prior to release and the problems are a part of the past. If you contact Tunze in Germany, they will honor the warranty. You will likely have to send the products back but it will be replaced.

Sent email to German since that day but no reply yet....what's a service.

I check with the local shop. They said they did a small profit from selling Tunze but have to pay huge shipping and tax. Tunze didnt honor the mistake they did at all. A good company should recall and responsibly for all costs, especially the premium product like Tunze.

taowa, you emailed me at info.english@tunze.com, all english emails to Tunze come to me. I forwarded your email to Regina at the factory, she handles all spare parts and she confirmed she got it. She will write you but she has a lot to do. It is not fair to blame Tunze for shipping and tax, those are policies of government and shipping companies and I can promise you that Tunze makes good on there mistakes if they are contacted and the products are returned. They generally add spares or replacements to the next order that is sent.

It's quite hard to justify what's fair, Roger. Tunze is not cheap and should have very high quality. I'm sure year 2006-2007 was a rough time but once Tunze made huge mistake like this. (Our local shop ordered 20 waveboxs from SGP. Within 3 months, none of them was working) I "believe" Tunze should responsibly more than normal at that time.

PS. I'm still a big fan of Tunze and already paid more to get new Wavebox to replace the old one. Wish the quality has been fixed in new model.

I'm sorry, this is very hard to belive.

This is corect here in Macedonia we were buying Tunze form wholeselers in Switzerland. Than we switch direct from Tunze.
The only problems were Nano holders, and the Tunze staff replace all the bad parts even without question from Swiss suplier. Our customers were surprised.

No point for me to make this up. Tunze should have the claim history.

Again, until now I still believe Tunze is no 1 in term of pump.
