Turquoise Squamosa

Grabbed mine for $225. I think $300 would of been my limit. You gotta figure that ORA breeds thousands of squamosa a year and if they only got like 4 turquoise out of this last batch then they will have more but they're still gonna be hard to come by.

Maybe yes maybe no. I've been keeping clams for a long time, and it sure seems as if the aquaculture places are pushing out a lot more really colorful, clams than ever before.

The guy from DD, 1hr after arrival. Just a iphone photo with blue LED's off. That maxima next to it has some crazy deep color from that angle. Wonder what the squammy will end up looking like.

Very nice. You'll have get some more pics once it settles in. Last squamosa I had went from 3.5in to 6in within a year before I traded it. Hopefully growth rates on these are as good. How big is the maxima?

And because I am such a sucker I got another clam... Really wanted a hippo and dd have had one in the past two days, but the gf told me to get this guy. Never seen a squamosa like it.

Description is green, white and black.

I saw that one too and was apparently able to exercise a little more restraint, lol. That is an awesome color pattern for a squamosa. The hippopus were pretty nice too but I've already got one.

They had two, a black one and a brown one that is still for sale I think. I bought it 5:06... I am weak... post a pick of the hippo!

here is an older pic of the hippo. I've gotta do a thorough glass scraping before getting a new pics cuz the hippo moved himself forward and is touching the front glass prevent my mag float from cleaning around him. stupid clam

Love it! I like those really purples ones. He sitting on the hinge? I have noticed they do that, but I don't have a great deal of experience with them.

Not from me. I did learn a lesson about quarantining clams though. Either the black one or the turquoise one (both from DD) introduced some sort of pathogen and it spread and killed my entire system of clams - some of which I had for years. There were no other changes, no new equipment or other livestock. A sad and expensive lesson.

Thank you sir. I try and tell everyone about QT and clams now. You hear so much about QT with fish and coral, but not much with clams or nems.
