Tusk troubles!

Hello there, is it normal for a Harlequin tusk (indo) to hid behind a intank-protein skimmer? He is scared to death by my angel and moves out of his way. He cant eat because my frozen food never gets over there? Will come out or most likey stay there and um croak?:sad2:

It might take a few days for him to acclimate to the tank and his tank mates.
Try getting food to him but otherwise if it doesn't get any better, it might be best to remove him. Normally if the other fish don't attack him he should come out.
Patience is the key

Your right, I only had him for a week. My angel is the boss of the tank. When do you think this will stop, he has only eaten 2-6 bites of frozen mysis. How long in tell he has to eat? Oh and he ate this 3 days after owning him.

If the angel doesn't ease up his aggression soon, you will need to do something drastic to change the dynamics. It can be redoing the rocks or isolating the two.

I will redo the rocks as I heard that relocating any thing brings high stress levels and don't want to take the chances. Also if that doesn't work I will go out and buy a divider.

When I got my tusk it was a little skittish and hid as well. The bully in the tank was a blue tang but after about a week they got along great. Is your tusk much smaller than the angel? As another poster mentioned you might have to change some of the scenery if the angel still picks on him.

The tusk is about 2 cm bigger than the angel. Hes not to skittish and sometimes hides at the base of a cheato ball. Now he likes to hide at the in-tank protein skimmer.

Your angel needs to be reacclimated and rock work moved around. Especially since you aren't using a acclimation box

Given the tank size and the species of angelfish, I am not surprised that there was aggression.

You can try rearranging the rocks or other tactics to reintroduce them, but it won't work long. Making the switch to the 135 will help but you won't be able to add any more large fish after that.

Well i wasn't planning to add any more fish to my system in tell I get a larger tank . Also I did all of that an the aggression has stop for now.
