Two anemones in a 150?

Hi all,

I have a 4' 150 tank and after seeing some RBTAs today really want to get one. I have a healthy Crispa already and wondered if you think it's possible to add the RBTA?

i have 4 batas in a 20 L so ........

but these are different species and I've read about chemical warfare before... I wanted to make sure before I do something like this :)

if they end up on oposite sides of the tank you should be fine, if they are basically on top of each other then you could end up with the c hemical warfare problems, there is really no way to tell if this will happen until they are together and where the RBTA decides is its happy spot

You can, just keep in mind it will limit room for corals as they can sting them.
I have 2 nems in my 180(started w/ a 90, but they got too big for that)
If I were to do it all over again I would have went w/ just one.
Your crispa will get big.
Mines almost 24" in diameter.

It will be tricky, especially if the length is only 4'. Like davocean said, H. crispa will get very large and can make things quite difficult for them to coexist.

I went ahead and picked up the RBTA to give it a try. My rockwork is actually setup pretty strangely and I'm basically done buying corals already so they have plenty of space to grow. I should add that within 5 seconds the maroon clown left its sebae and ran over to the RBTA

You can see the sebae in this picture. The RBTA is placed on the bottom right rock... and I'll see where it goes from there.

I don't see a RBTA...lol.

Neither do I... It's like some warped version of where's Waldo ;)

I have a 9 inch LTA and 4 inch BTA in my 55 gallon reef tank. They stay on different sides of the tank. LTA touches everything that it can I think it looks for things to sting. My frogfish doesn't care and will just slide on by all day no problem. :)

Sorry!! That picture was from before.... just to show the pacement and growing room :o

I'll get a new picture up shortly! The new BTA seems to have found a place it likes! On the right edge of the right rock.

I dunno... I personally think they're very cool! The catch all the missed food too :)

Here's a better pic of the new anemone! I ended up moving the rock it was on upside today while adding another rock:

Very nice RBTA. I am interested to see if its going to retain its bubbly form.

I thought they all eventually get very long spare tentacles? I assumed it wouldn't stay bubble like this forever (although it is neat!) and am prepared to have a regular anemone.

Some do loose their bubbles while others keep them. It depends on many factors such as lighting, flow, how often its fed, water quality, etc.
