Two sets of clowns in a seven footer

I have purchased a seven foot tank as my upgrade and it comes with a breeding pair of maroon clownfish and their large anemone.

I already have a pair of young percula clowns and a medium sized anemone, if I put the anemones at opposite ends of the tank will the clowns be ok with each other? Or is one pair going to have to go back to my LFS? I'm torn... On the one hand I'm really wanting the breeding pair, on the other hand I love my perculas, and the kids like them because they look like Nemo.

What would you do?

I have four in my 8 footer with no problems but I added them at same time. I would try and see but you might have problems because they are older and established.

i have a 400g reef that is seven foot like yours. I have a pair of ORA Spotcinctus clownfish, 1 clarkii 1 ocellaris, pair of onyx true percale, and soon to come a pair of large ocellaris. The pair of onyx and the one occelaris all host the cap coral, and all sleep together without any fighting or chasing. The pair of ORA spotcinctus Host a long tentacle torch and don't mess with anyone. And the clarkii Has claimed a cave and lives in there, he even takes food and throws it in the cave. It is really a hit or miss. I am just lucky that all of the clowns have there own spot, and stays around there.

IME i would say 1 pair per tank, if you want them to breed and lay eggs, since some of the clowns don't feel safe because of the others.

My clowns don't venture very far from their anemones. If they are all hosting something I don't think would travel 6 feet to fight and leave their spot unattended. I would give it a shot. You can always remove one pair if it does not work out.

I tried to add my mated pair of true percs to my 240,8' tank, and my mated /spawning pair of occs. Occs female and true perc female met in the middle and fought like crazy.I had several rbtas on each end.If they could see each other, the fight was on.

not a problem in my 180 there was a maited pair of maroon clows
and a tri of breeding perks
they split tank in half no one ever crossed the line
the were anemones throughout the tank

If I got a few more anenomes and put them throughout the tank with their current nems at either end would that increase my chances?

I think I will put both pairs in, Perculas first, then if they are still fighting in a week take one pair to my LFS. Does that sound like a plan?

I think if you have two anenomes at two ends of your tank then put these two pairs in at the same time so they can go host the nemes . That going to be less change for them to fight .

it just depends on the clowns because maroons seem to be a little more aggressive but if you are switching both into a new tank at the same time neither will have a territory yet and they could be okay as long as each pair has a nem to host far apart from the others

I had a mated pair of maroons in a gbta's in one end of a 6 foot tank and a mated pair of ocellairs in a huge H. Crispa on the other end. They lived peacefully for over 2 years that way until one random day the maroon female decided she didn't like thinner younger orange female and promptly ripped her gill and a few fins off, then proceeded to murder her mate just for fun.

I'd throw my money in with eventually you'll end up with a pair of maroons. The only question is how soon..
