Two tone wrasse(Halichoeres prosopeion)

Has anyone else owned one of these wrasses? I have had mine about two weeks now and was noticing a number of hermet/snail shells empty on the sand bed. I placed and received an order for hermets/snails from blue zoo aquatics(all i mean ALL critters arived alive). After aclimation i was placing hermets in my tank and as I was my two tone wrasse was attacking them! I am seriously thinking of catching(or at least trying to) the fish and returning it to my LFS. Anyone else had longer term experiance with this species?

It's common for halichoeres wrasses to go after shrimp and snails. If this is a problem for you, you'll have to return the fish. It's possible to keep a tank without snails though.

Yep, reef safe with caution and that's why. I have three others from the genus and I don't have a problem with them eating any inverts. I think its 50/50 whether they will or not... nice fish tho.

Bummer, i think i'll try to catch him/her this weekend. Yuck i hate catching fish in a reef tank.....
