Uber Skimmer? All the bells and whistles...

I saw this skimmer at MACNA, The downside to this skimmer is simple. People with nano tanks will not be able to run it... :)

Its built like a tank.uses a great pump. It is a external though. Wish they had a internal model.

From the description on the web page, I read it to mean it could be used externally or internally?

...the Black Pearl is designed to be run externally, and is a recirculating design. This allows flexibility with installation, as the unit can be run in or out of the sump. Recirculating skimmers aren't affected by the water depth in which they sit, so in-sump users don't have to worry about making ideal sump chambers or platforms to raise and lower the skimmer itself.

you can but an external requires another feed pump. I like the least amount of pumps and wires as possible. Not really a problem as a personal preferance. You can run any external internally. But if that is what you are going to do why not just get an internal model.

just "tee" off your drain line and feed the skimmer that way. Or as they suggested if you are running biopellets feed from biopellet system
