Just wanted to share some pics of my Undy, named Shamrok by my son...

Here he was day 1 acclimating on September 7, 2008:

Here's a few shots from today, easily put on 1.5" if not 2":

Cool, I have an undulated too (as well as a pair of Weimaraners). The dogs are definately high maintenance.

What a cool fish. There's a store about 40 minutes from my house that has had 4 little undy's for sale for about a month and a half. I'm tempted each time I go in there :).

Some more pics I took tonight...

Well, I broke out the camera after feeding him, so he was less than cooperative:

Under the cabinet, still going strong with the Tidepool II Bio-wheel wet dry. I upgraded my skimmer to a SRO 1000 and it is awesome. I also ditched the UV and am running some carbon in a media reactor. Return is a Mag 9.5.

And, a FTS. Still have some very pretty Bryopsis everywhere (never thought you'd hear someone call it that, did you?) but it doesn't bother him, so it doesn't bother me.

I've got an HD video uploading to 'bucket as I type and will try to post that once it is done.

Thanks for looking.

smart idea having him solo, had to get rid of my undy in my 75g cause he ate over $200 worth of fish and corals. oh well i traded him in for another fish so its all right, wouldof been nice to having him for a few years. how large is he?

Thanks for the replies! He was about 1.5" when I got him in September 08 now he's about 4.5". The tank is all his, it's a 65 not a 28 (my 28 Nanocube is a mixed reef). I'm hoping that will suffice for him, but if he gets much bigger than 8", I guess I'll have to find something bigger for him. He's much less shy today then when he was smaller, he'll display at me (shake his head) and charge a few inches out of his cave if I just sit and stare at him long enough.

You can kill byropsis by raising the mag level with Tech M, FYI. Although, in looking at the video, I am not sure that IS byropsis....

Love the undulated!

Yeah, I've tried it...had mag well over 1600 for several weeks at one point back when it bothered me...no luck. Now I just prune when it gets unsightly. If not Bryopsis, any thought to what it is? I've taken clumps to a couple reputable LFS in my area and they all thought it was the bry.

Hands down this is my favorite fish. Back in the day (mid-80s) I cycled my first ever salt water tank with a small Undy...it was a 10 gallon with an UG filter and Dolomite! That's what the LFS at the time recommended! That lasted all of a few months and then my parents (I was only 15 or so) got tired of all the salt creep and noise on their bar between the dining room and kitchen so back he went. I always wanted another one. If I had to choose between my 2 tanks, I'd definitely keep the trigger and ditch the reef.
