unknown mysterious problem

I have been to three LFS herer in Orlando no luck. I have a problem with some unknown type of white,stringy,slime thats starts slow and in three days of seeing it form on glass it is clinging to everything in the tank. Live rock, coral, glass. Anyone one what it may be. I have a 11 month old, 90 gal, reef tank. Overflow to sump with filter sock, skimmer, and UV ster, running. All water checks out fine. This seems to happen every three weeks or so. But has now lasted more than 7 days whick is unusuall. Have just started blowing and brushing the areas, whick clogs up the filter socks every 8 hours, HELP

Sounds like dinoflagellates.

It seems like you have bacterial blooms. Like stated before, you may want to find some source, like sugars, alcohol (wodka) or acetate. Do you dose anything?
