I was at the zoo today and checked out the aquarium. It's weird comparing the corals in their huge reef to corals I've seen in our aquariums at home They had beautiful fish, I even found an amazing sohal.
Maybe we can work out something with the Zoo? Maybe a backstage tour of some kind? BTW...we waved at some young guy cleaning tanks today, was that one of you?

I stoped in on May 24 to check it out. I would not go out of my way to go here right now. About 1/3 of there tanks were full of hair algae and looked horible. The algea was so bad in a few of the tanks that the coral banded shrimp in them were almost completly covered in it. The other tanks were not that bad but had very little selection of livestock in them. The fish they did have were a bit high in price and none were rare or realy cool fish IMO. I was dissapointed walking in to see the selection and algae problems. I would give them a few months to get things straightened out and for them to stock up there tanks. I have delt with them for years for my FW tanks and have always had good experances with them. So this should be a good place given some time for them to work things out.
I think that is all it is. But they should have kept it closed to the public till it is straightened out IMO. The way there tanks look right now I would think allot of people who stoped in to check it out wont bother later down the road because of how bad they look right now. They should be a good place to go once they get it right. I just hope they didnt shoot them selves in the foot by letting people see there tanks like that! Like I said I would give them a few months to fix there problems and stock up then im sure it will be a great place to go.
A lot of their prices on supplements and dried goods were fairly reasonable. They were only slightly more expensive than online, and after shipping, they were cheaper.
I stopped in on Saturday, just after the swap in Monroe. The algea issues have seemed to have subsided. I only saw a little HA and some diatoms. Hopefully they are on their way out of new tank syndrome. However, their livestock inventory seemed low. It appears that things are starting to come together. I can't wait until they are in full force!!!
