Mix ati and geisseman. From front to back.

Gman super actinic
Ati blue +
Gman super purple
Gman Aquablue azure
Ati blue+
Gman super actinic

Super actinic and blue + are REALLY close. I like to gman blue better for looks, but the blue+ puts out more par.

I also have a 65k bulb that geisseman makes that I'm playing around with using as well. My Acro dealer uses a lot of 65k halides and t5s and gets crazy colors....

Cory also recommended the two g man bulbs. Looks like I'll do those two with my 175 watt 14k ushio halides. Thx

Sean, sorry, I'm not understanding you here. K is for Kelvin (color temperature scale) and k for 1000s.

I use 20,000K Radiums. 65k would be 65000 and I can't believe there are 65000K bulbs. I don't think 65K would be energetic enough to sustain photosynthetic organisms. Might you possibly mean 6500K?

Thanks.

I have never seen a 65000k bulb either. That would be....blue.....

I've seen folks throw around the term 65k, and while technically extremely incorrect, I thought it was enough to get my point across. So yeah, technically 6.5k...

He's got some I used to have from Vivid........ If anybody has corals that I spread I'd like a frag to get my collection going again.

Some of adams best stuff isn't even on the site. The best thing you can do, and I'm serious about this, is tell him how much you want to spend and tell him what stuff you like and what you don't....the grab bags the guy puts together are ridiculous

Thanks for clarifying Sean. I hadn't seen that terminology. It seems odd to me that people would be deliberately incorrect in such a key descriptor as color temperature when discussing lighting. The dumbing down of America continues full force.

I'd venture a guess that many people are not aware that the K stands for Kelvin versus the usual use of k for 1000s as well.

Yes, conventional thinking is low color temp for growth, high color temp for color.

That this guy was getting "crazy colors" with 6500K bulbs may have to do more with the influence of the supplemental t5s. Maybe that's a great combo for growth with color.

Nah. His tanks are all prop systems. Some are halide some are t5 and some are led. He's been pulling really nice colors solely with 6.5k (that's for you Ken [emoji6]) halides.

Even his t5 setups feature quite a few 65k bulbs.

The LEDs are all reef breeders photons set at 100% on all 3 colors.
