Well some of you all know that I had planned on my move last weekend. All was working out well, got into the new apartment, got a downstairs this time! Moved all my belongings over and left the two tanks for last...
Yeah thought it was a good idea, after two days of moving by myself in a Jeep Wrangler, yeah I was kinda getting exhausted. So time for the tanks, got a neighbor with a truck to help out, felt he kinda owed it to me after sitting for many hours over the last year watching my tank grow. Well get got it all moved and while I was installing all the plumbing on the back I kinda binded a pipe for the overflow and yeah it happened. Cracked the top of the tank. From the overflow to the top straight up and down, bout a 3 inch crack. Kinda in a dilema, I decided on a last resort to smear silicone on the back of the tank from the overflow up to the top and filled the tank. It is holding water fine for the last two days, but its only a matter of time.
My question is: If I upgrade from my 40 breeder to a 75 gallon, will fit my stand, have plenty of enough live rock and may need to buy one bag of sand. Would it cause another cycle if I use all the water, rock, sand from this tank and only add freshly mixed water?
This misfortune could give me a reason for the upgrade!! Making lemonaide out of the lemons that were tossed my way. :ape::ape:
