upgraded lighting acclimation ok?

I have just added a 150 watt 10000k mh to my existing 4x36 watt pc 50/50s.
I put the mh on for 2 hrs awaited a day 4 hrs same, 6 hrs, 8hrs. Is this ok the light is 6 inches from the water and has my green bta directly underneath it, I hasnot moved and looks really good.
 
you can go the way your going, i use pieces of window screen, 3 sheets thick then remove one sheet every few days
 
I only raise my lights to acclimate corals.

Heres why this is all thats needed:
Light intensity reduces very quickly as you move the bulb away. I believe that the Inverse Square Law states that light is 1/4 intensity @ 1', 1/9th intensity @ 2', 1/16th intensity @ 3', and so on, due to the light being dispersed over a wider area, like your living room floor as opposed to the aquarium.
