ur thoughts about this skimmer

Aqua Man 07

fastest reefer on 2wheels
eshopps generation 2 in sump psk 300 says its good to 300gal and it has 2 pumps with mesh wheels also the regular psk 300 not much diffrence between the 2 butt it seems to be a nice skimmer 4 under 300.00

Supposed to be pretty good. I however wont do anything that requires a meshwheel. To much maintenance on them. I would look for a good pinwheel skimmer.

The mesh breaks down and has to be replaced every 4-6 months and also there are start-up issues with more meshmods.

I'll stick with my pinwheels.

cool thanks for the info that is why i posted this to see the feedback before i buy a money pit that doesent perform well ill see what else i can find i am trying to get as close to a 300gal compasity skimmer for 300.00 or under there a few butt if anybody knows of one aroud thoes numbers let me know

You will not get any skimmer that truely can do 300 gallons or close to it for 300 bucks.....

Maybe something that can do 200gallons poorly but not a good heavy stocked 300 gallon.

bad thing about going bigger, bigger skimmer and bigger lights and bigger power bill and bigger hole in wallet.

Cheapest priced skimmers out there that will handle 300 gallon well will be octopus extreme 300 or even octopus extreme 250, msx has new upgraded pumps for 250 model that uses askoll pumps that put out a ton of air and very quiet.

octopus 200 extreme ( would be perfect with a ATB needle wheel

if you do mesh get used to playing with the mesh to get it restarted (thats why more people went back to needlewheels)

agree with chad msx 200 with purple pinwheel impellar from atb

premium aquatics sells octopus 200 and the purple pinwheel

the octopus at ms is the old 200 right.also how about the octopus ddnw 250 for 300 if i get the cash in time

the one at MS is the very old one

only buy the one with the sicce pump, night and day compaired to the old pump they used

I had the old dnw 200 Octopus skimmer it did have some Geoxman mods but it totally outperforms my bosses stock extreme 200 skimmer. I think for the money its going to be hard to find something that will handle 300 gallons for 300 hundred dollars.

My vote is I would wait a while and see what pops up. I bought my last skimmer for 100 bucks and it was the 200 series.

Also pm Geoxman he probably has a couple good skimmers setting around.

i am trying to stay away from used stuff because thats what landed me in the boat im in now as far as waiting a while i am serching around for the best deal i can find butt i am deffently leaning tward a octopus skimmer i found one that is used butt is a 600.00 octopus for 300 it is the ddnw 250 it is rated for 650 gallon tank it looks like a big bad a$$ skimmer butt would still need a feed pump. any thoughts about that skimmer

The Ocotpus Extreme 200 stock will do very well on tanks as long as the water level is constant and it operates in 8-11" of water. I was having a problem with my skimmer needing constant adjustment and was told to keep the sump level constant. After doing this, it continues to pull well and will be even better once the red demon impeller arrives. I also clean the neck every 3 days so that it gets maximum performance. The sicce pump is extremely quiet and the silencer does an awesome job eliminating the rest of the noise. Farmer recommended the skimmer to me and I have been extremely happy so far. If you are going to have 300 gallons of water volume then I would not go with the 200 maybe the 250 but anything under 200 this skimmer is beast.
