Urchin Hitchhiker ID

This urchin caught a ride into my buddy's 12g Nanocube in a coral. It's grown significantly since then.

For reference, the intake behind the urchin is 4" across, so the urchin is ~1.5" across.

Anyone have an idea what it is, and whether he should get rid of it?

I cant say for sure what type of urchin it is, but it has always been my preference to just stay away from urchins, their bulldozers, especially in a 12 gallon tank.

urchins can be great additions to a reef tank if you have algea problems but in a tank that small it will be nothing but a problem. like mentioned above they are bulldosers wich also love to eat coraline algea.
