I am looking at buying a gen 1 radion upgraded to a gen 3 pro the light is older but never used. What would a fair price be buying this from lfs? Ballast has a date of 1/2014.
Gen 1. It took about a week to get them back. I went with the wide angle lens. I went with ref gen3 upgrade. At this pint I was in for a little over over $400 and couldn't justify the extra $100. Make sure you ask them to include the lens you paid for in the box in case you don't like the wide angle ones. I am thinking of changing in lens set to see if I like that better. There seems to be a lot of light that leaves the tank. Also the fan upgrade is only done if they think it is necessary. I didn't notice that they didn't change the fans until the second light. I called and asked on the second light when they told me that. I asked them to send me the fan for the second light so I had it when the fan failed. They did.
Might get a gen 1 myself and upgrade it to a gen 3 pro. Some person selling them for only $300 CAD (225 USD). If the upgrade doesn't fall through, how much spread would the gen 1 radion have? I couldn't find any details on it.
I ended up picking up the light. So far so good. I'll add a second when money allows. I'm hoping if I get a pro and add the 120° lenses that I can get away with a single xr30 and an xr15.
