Utility Sink Installation

Hi all. I was wondering if anyone has had a utility sink installed in their garage or house by a plumber. I am thinking of having one installed, but I don't know what a reasonable price for a plumber to do it is. Any thoughts on what would be reasonable? It would probably be hooked up next to water heater in the garage.

Or, has anyone installed a utility sink themselves?

Thanks for the help and advice.

Mounting and hooking up the sink is not tough, but the hard part is likely to be the drain. Are there any sewer pipes near?

I really couldn't tell you if there are any sewer lines near. There is a water heater there, but the there the master bedroom between the garage and closest bathroom, so i'm not sure of sewer lines. I was thinking the drain would be the hardest part.

How close is the sink to the outside? If you do not plan on dumping real harsh chemicals down it just plump it to the outside. That is the easiest but maybe not the smartest. If you going to dump saltwater then the grass and plants will die where ever the pipe goes. Also if you dump the water outside next to the house and are dumping alot down the drain make sure it is not making a huge puddle outside right next to the house. On second thought maybe my idea is a bad one.....lol

More cons then pros

where is your washer/dryer. you can use the washer drain and hook right into it. mine is in the garage, so its an easy hookup. Like you said, the drain will be the tough part.
