Vendor selection help

Hey guys,

I am considering buying a Read Sea reefer 350 setup (wife saw it in a store and loved it). I am looking at some online retailers since they offer 5% store credit that my local stores don't.

So far I have pre-selected 4 vendors:

- https://www.saltwateraquarium.com (5% SC + No dropship)
- http://www.aquacave.com (5% SC)
- http://aquarium.bulkreefsupply.com (5% SC + Dropships)

Considering the 5% SC from some and their reputation among hobbyist, which one would you recommend? Where would my store credit go a longer way?

Thank you!

Thanks!!

I have had great experience shopping with both BRS and aquacave so can't go wrong with either of them if you as me.

Hard to imagine an online seller being able to do better than a local store..
Usually the shipping associated with an online tank purchase is the killer for them
(I just bought a tank and it was $550+ through all online retailers but LFS got it for me at $375...)

But out of those vendors I personally would use BRS... very well known around here/in the industry..
All the others though have been around and should be just fine too..

All seem like fine selections. I think BRS might be a great for the vast selection of credit use. Another option is simple to preplan the credit use and shop each, such as new pumps, skimmers, etc

Thank you all!!

One important point is that local stores charge sales taxes and, for the model I'm looking it amounts to $171, which these online retailers don't (just confirmed with them). That and the 5% back makes a good $300 in savings!...

mc, these tanks have the same price across any retailer, online or local. It seems to be set by the company. I spoke to a local store owner and she said she could match the 5% back but only on livestock. I believe that credit would go a longer way online than local. They definitely have better prices on everything else I'll need.

Thank you all!
