Whats the light spread, can 1 unit work over a 36" tank? Isit more advanced than AI?

The 12" module that I am running is good for 24" system in my opinion, although they do make a 24" unit that would give you better coverage in that size tank.

I wouldn't say it's a better option than AI, but a different option. Both the AI and Illumina are the leaders of the pack in LED's for our reefs. Unfortunately the Illumina is not readily available in the US though.

Just as a side note, if any of you are at MACNA I have assembled a "light cloud" that will be on display with all of the LED fixtures we have available. I will have the 12" Vertex Illumina running next to the AI SOL Blue.

I don't think that it falls short of the AI, it's just different design than what the AI is.

Is the fixture plug n play in the us?

The fixture is indeed completely plug n play. All you have to do is set a few variable on the onboard controller and you're running.

I will have the V-Stick delivered today via UPS, so I will get the chance to play around with that a little bit.

When you get a chance, could you take some photos and share your opinion on how coral colors appear under this vertex versus a t5 rig using quality bulbs?

Comparison pix would be beyond awesome

I took the fixture off the tank and it's packed up to go to MACNA now. When I get back I will get up back up on a tank and get some pics taken.

I got my V-Link today as well. It some time to wrap my noodle around the interface features but I think I've got it figured out. The initial release only supports four control points in expert mode but I'm told that more points will be added in the next revision...
