Hey EvMiBo, Its been awhile since I have been on here how have you been? These vertex skimmers really took off huh? Man, last year at this time there was only like 4 people in the "club"!! I still have my in-100 Gen1. But im thinking about going with the in-180. I have a bigger bio load now since it got cold here in michigan all I do is go to the LFS and buy fish. Anyway merry christmas!!

I have a 75 gallon DT and 20 gallon sump. I am wondering if the IN-100 or IN-180 is a better choice for me?
Reef Specialty, Bubble Blaster 5000. I bought the BB3000 and it is just strong enough, but if you want to run the skimmer more than half open then get the 5000.i want a new pump for my in-250 any thoughts
Trolldoll, if you have bubbles breaking near or over the lip you probably have it set too high. While I have a much bigger skimmer it is all the same concept, I only let the bubbles break halfway up the neck below the base of the cup. At first you won't see anything, maybe even for a couple of days. Then one day you'll see thick froth collecting up against the lid. Resist the urge to keep adjusting. Just let it run and ignore it for a few days.
Also be sure you have something to skim. You mentioned seeding rock, but if there's nothing in the tank you won't have much to skim.
It's worth repeating because I read it on a daily basis in so many forums where people keep trying to dial in their skimmers. Resist the urge to adjust and let it break in.
Thanks for all of the advice. I haven't touched it and it seems to be good to go. I'm sitting at 8.5"

Problem here is the poles are too close to the sump. Send some to me and things will run better :frog:
Yep, looks like some nice spanish Mackerel trolling rods mixed in.![]()
