Fascinating! What an excellent location... did you make it out to dive Ball's Pyramid?

Genicanthus semicinctus is a Lord Howe treasure and often overlooked... but if I had my choice of obtaining ANY of the ten species of known Genicanthus I'd choose semicinctus... only one specimen has been found outside of tiny Lord Howe... this species has one of the smallest distributions of all angelfish and by far the most resticted of the Genicanthus...

Unfortunately for us Americans Lord Howe is just about half way across the world and costs an arm and a leg to fly to...

What other angelfish species did you see there? I saw Centropyge tibicen in one of your videos...

Hi,

There is not a lot of Angelfishes in this regions except the famous C. Ballinae. I attached a picture that a friend made at Ball's Pyramid.

I also love the G. semicinctus it has been very difficult to find it though. I made a picture of male that i attached also.

Incredible footage...thanks for sharing. I could watch stuff like this all day.

And if I ever keep mccullochi (read: when the price on the CB clowns comes waaaay down), I want to set up the tank to look like this habitat. Having been attacked by damselfish while snorkeling, I'm impressed that you were able to get up so close--every account I've read of Mcculloch's clownfish in captivity mentions how aggressive they are.

Well, i did not feel that the Mcculloch's clownfish was agressive in the wild compared to some premnas or A. clarkii.

However, you have to remember that the water is around 22 to 25 where you mainly find the Mcculloch's clownfish therefore, if you maintain them at a higher temperature, they could be more agressive.
