Vince's 210g build

I'm hoping to be done with my 210g by the end of March. Once it's done, and everything is transfer over, the tank will be up for sale.

I started adding RODI water on 2/14, take 3 days to fill up. I than added aquavitro salt and about 40lbs of live rock from my exisiting tank 2/17. I've been adding small amount of fish food trying to feed the bacteria. Just did some testing last night, ph 8.0, ammonia 0, nitrite 0, nitrate 0, s.g. 1.025. I'm still waiting for the ammonia to spike, so hopefully by this weekend I can move everything from the 90g over.

Excuse the mess in these picture. My wife has given me a deadline to clean everything up, so hopefully everything will be done by this coming weekend.

So far I'm very happy with the whole setup. The only thing I regret is adding fine sand. With the vortech in reefcrest at full blast, I'm getting sand everywhere. The vortech is set right now on reefcrest at half power, so it defeats the purpose of having these powerhead when I can't use it to it's fullest potential.

Vince!!!! Your tank looks awesome man! Good job. Sucky that you can't go 100% with the Vortech. I think Josh had the same problem running with the fine sand also.

Pictures doesn't do your tank justice Vince.

I love the look of your opened rock work and then of course the size of that puppy!

vince do you have any pics of your led setup? How many did you end up using?what mix?what optics? sorry for all the questions still planning out my 210

Dan, currently I only have 84 led, 4 strip of 2rb to 1cw, 2 all rb strip, and 1 all cw strip. I have 60 degree optic, but currently not running them. I will put them on sometime this week to see if I need them or not.

I'm still debating about just sucking out all the sand, and go bare. It's just ignoring to see all the sand flowing around at such a low setting.

All the fish seem very happy now. I'm also hoping to add a pair of blue throat trigger sometime this week.
