so can one wireless controller control two pumps?

well no you need to upgrade all the pumps to the new drivers. one driver will be designated as the Master pump and the others will be slaves. slaves will be controlled by the master.

Ahhh...thnx for clearing that up for me.
so what is different about what is for sale on the first than what we can order now? Is it just that if you order a vortech from then on you can have the new driver from the start as opposed to the upgrade we current users will now do?

i dont know if the vortechs that are shippied from ecotech after the 1st of september will come with wireless stock.

so the upgrade goes into the white box that currently has the dial for flow adjustment? doesnt sound like it has a lcd or anything for display. wonder how you know what setting your picking. will be ordering my upgrade as soon as funds allow =-)

no you detach the cord from the white driver you have now then plug the cord in the new controller module/driver. so its simple and quick plus you dont have to send the pumps in as many thought in the past we might have to do.

Nope, no dancing around. Just a quick call to work things out...Didn't find out until Marc posted in his thread. Now if I could just get those Eco-Tech guys to fasten a heat sink and adapter to my pumps that will accept CPU fans!

Seriously, I am working on a mod to keep mine cool. The fan has worked really well so hopefully other users will learn from that and gauge whether they need additional cooling.

and here it is, sort of
very nice sleek design
driver_render.jpg

The rendering makes it look like plastic doesn't it? And again it doesn't look like there's much in the way of information like speed, temp, cycle, etc.

you know those liquid cooling heat sincs for CPUs? what about removing the rubber sticker on the back of the vortech and replacing it with a liquid cooling system.

or an icecap variable speed fan controlled by the driver based on heat...

Also since these things are wireless will i be able to hook up to the internet and check on my pumps? that would be cool all they need is a vortech thing that hooks to the wireless router in my apartment allready.

see the clear stripe on it? That will have series of leds that will tell you what mode its in and they are providing a key to understand the led modes also the key is on the back of the driver.

this is much cheaper to design and build, also the plastic is bettter suited to the Marine enviroment. stainless is expensive. for 50 bucks we are getting the wireless controller not just the single controller as we all thought before plus we get to do it ourselves no sending in the pump.

also i hope this thread is the place to critique the controller with out turning it into a flame fest all thoughts are apreciated

all good points. I don't know anything about the liquid coolers. I figured even a variable speed fan mounted in a heat sink and attached to the motor would be good, but since I am one of, if not the only person with this issue, it doesn't pay for them to do the build out.

yeah, hooking into my wireless bridge with some software on my PC would be good, or even better would be a link to AquaNotes. :D
